Mid American Indian Center
The All-Indian Museum, located in the Mid-American Indian Center Wichita, preserves and showcases the heritage of the Native American tribes of North America. Permanent and rotating exhibits of both traditional artifacts and contemporary art depict Native American cultures of both past and present.
Walk the paths of the village, listen to the sounds of the big and little Arkansas Rivers flowing to either side and the prairie wind rustling through the trees overhead. Catch a glimpse of what village life was like for the people who first lived in this area ... the Kiowa, the Cheyenne, the Wichita and the Sioux.
The American Indian Center Wichita is located at the confluence of the Big and Little Arkansas Rivers, on land where the Wichita tribe camped more than 100 years ago. The arrow-shaped building located there was a Bicentennial gift to all Indians from the people of Wichita. The Mid American Indian Center is part of the cultural triangle which includes the Wichita Art Museum and Old Cowtown Museum.
